About Us
Improving the quality of people’s lives
We are a furniture re-use charity established in 1994 to fight furniture poverty in the local area. We help those in need directly by providing basic furniture needs or by supporting the work of multiple charities by supplying them and the people they are working with, with essential furniture for people who find themselves in serious situations like;Â
- Fleeing domestic abuse
- Disabled or facing health issues
- Those in temporary housing
- Severe financial deprivation
- Mental health concerns
- Asylum seekers
We also provide heavily discounted re-used furniture via our showroom, this helps not only those who may not have the available money for new products but we also keep furniture out of landfill, giving it a new life in the community. Â

What do we do?
We use donated furniture to either supply our charity partners or sell in our shop. The proceeds from our sales enable us to buy new items like mattresses for those in need. Roundabout does not take requests directly we work through these partners to ensure that items goes to those in most need.

Our Apprenticeship Scheme
Roundabout is committed to providing opportunities to individuals who are starting out in their working lives and to this end we are working with Sutton Cold field Training (SCT), for our Business Administration apprenticeship it runs over a 15 month period and comprises a number of modules and course work ending in an assessment. The level 3 qualification enables the apprentice to learn about all aspects of the business and organization ensuring that everything from legislation and policy to customer satisfaction is understood. The skills and knowledge gained in completing this course ensure the apprentice has the qualification, knowledge and skills to be an asset in any administrative environment.
Our Supply Chain Warehouse apprenticeship is provided through Smart Training & Recruitment and is also set over a 15 month period. This course is designed to provide the apprentice with all the skills of working in a warehouse environment and covers all the health & safety and practical skills needed. The course is a mixture of, on the job learning, combined with theoretical course work supported by the provider. At the end of the course the individual is qualified and equipped with the skills required to be able to work in a warehouse / supply chain environment.
This is the third set of apprenticeships Roundabout has been able to take on and some of our previous apprentices have gone on to make careers in other organizations and some have remained with Roundabout building on their experience and knowledge to help provide and improve our service to clients and customers. We look forward to enabling more apprenticeships in the future.

Our Volunteers
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and are highly committed to our purpose. There are a variety of voluntary options available for people to choose from and we also provide a minibus that comes through Evesham to enable more volunteers to work with us.

Meet the Team
At Roundabout we pride ourselves on our community orientated, inclusive team, our paid staff, volunteers and trustees are all equally important to our organisation and our success. Many of our staff were originally volunteers or apprentices with us. Our apprenticeship programme has now enabled us to have two apprentices in 2024 one in Business Administration (level 3) and the other in Supply Chain Warehouse (level 2)Â

How You Can Help
When you support us through either donating furniture & homewares, buying from our shop or giving us monetary donations via Just Giving https://www.justgiving.com/roundabout-westmidlands you help us to provide essential furniture delivered directly to those in need. We also work with our referral partner agencies and charities to identify either individuals or projects in need of critical homewares that people require for their fundamental living needs. These include items like beds, tables, cooking implements bedding and storage items.Â
Although we work with nearly 100 Charities and Agencies every year below are some of our main partners with links to their website. If you are yourself in need you can approach these charities to ask for a referral for furniture. Roundabout does not take requests directly we work through these partners to ensure that items goes to those in most need.Â
Saving Items from landfill
Another way in which your donations and purchases help is that we keep a huge amount of furniture and homewares in circulation rather than seeing these items go to landfill. The graphs below show how many donated items of furniture we have collected and reused in 2023 and how much that equates to in weight of items diverted from landfill sites.
